Our guests say...

The BnB is just slightly in the country and is surrounded by farmland. The 3 bedrooms are all upstairs. Modern home with modern conveniences. Husband and wife both friendly and helpful. Good breakfast with usual fare. You will not be disappointed!

My wife and I stayed at A Touch of Country B&B for 4 nights during our stay in Stratford; we were there to attend plays at the Stratford Festival.
This was one of the finest B&B experiences we have ever had. Mieke and Bob, our hosts, could not do enough for us and for the other guests. For example, one of the guests was a vegan. Mieke went out of her way to prepare vegan breakfasts for this person! Their home, which also serves as the B&B is spotless. The bed is super comfortable, the breakfasts outstanding and imaginative. Mieke is a wonderful cook and her breakfasts show it! The B&B is slightly out in the country, which is great; it is a five minute drive to the theatres of the Festival. The only negative about this B&B is leaving it!

My wife and I were meeting friends in the Stratford area for only 1 night. Seeing that there was much going on in the area for this particular weekend, there weren't many choices for accommodation. We settled on A Touch of Country, and in the end after our stay, we were extremely satisfied with our choice!! There are many words to describe Bob and Mieke, funny, engaging, accommodating, gracious. There can sometimes be a fine line between being involved with guests and knowing when to let guests do their thing, and Bob and Mieke are experts at this. Their house and the rooms are very clean and well kept. Our bed was very comfortable. There is a nice common room with a small fridge and coffee for the morning. Breakfast was plentiful and very delicious. Was kind of nice smelling cinnamon buns baking as we were waking up. Their home was close enough to the city to be listed in Stratford but far enough out to be very quiet. I would not hesitate at all to stay here again. Thank you Bob and Mieke!!

When our regular place was booked solid we chose this as an alternative and were most happy with the result. Our room was spacious and had a comfortable bed. The private bath (just outside the room) was very clean and its hot water was very hot! Our hostess was very welcoming and clearly enjoys her guests. She is also quite the cook and provided home made quiches, muffins, and cinnamon buns for breakfast as well as rashers of crisp bacon. She enjoys her guests so much she shared in her guests conversations (some may not like this but we don't mind it at all). The b&b is about a mile and half from downtown Stratford and is not a quaint Victorian home but a contemporary one and we didn't mind that either. For Stratford their room rate is very affordable. One final note, this b&b operates only during the theatre season. Very highly recommended.

In 51 consecutive years attending the Stratford Festival my wife and I have stayed in a bed and breakfast probably less than a-half dozen times, electing instead to stay in one of the many hotels in town. This year we decided to do something different and are we ever glad we did. Staying three nights in the "A Touch of Country Bed and Breakfast" with our hosts Bob and Mieke Mueller was a treat beyond description. First the basics: their home is immaculate and beautiful. Our room was large and very comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious, consisting, for example, of quiche, sausages or bacon, fruit and home made sweet roles. And the best: Bob and Mieke. Their sense of humor is infectious and we enjoyed so much just sitting with them and talking when we weren't attending the theatre. We arrived as guests in Bob's and Mieke's "B & B," but we left as friends. The "Touch of Country Bed and Breakfast" is our place to stay in Stratford from now on.

Lovely country home with spacious rooms, very clean and well appointed. Inviting common areas indoors as well as outdoor deck and hot tub. Easy access to downtown and theater events. Thoroughly enjoyed our hosts who were very accommodating of our departure time. Inviting breakfast dishes. Great value for this very comfortable stay! Highly recommended!

My mom and I stayed with Bob and Mieke in May of 2014 for 2 nights and could not get over the quality of service we experienced. From the beautiful room (with all your pampering needs), to the breakfasts that melted in your mouth and most of all, the kindness and conversations we shared with them. There would be no other place to stay for us in Stratford. It is about 5 minutes from the Avon theater and our room faced farm land which was heavenly. We will be back as soon as I can make arrangements! It is worth the 3 hour drive from Buffalo, NY even if you are not seeing a play! Thank you!!!!!! The website is excellent at providing all the necessary information about the B&B. We stayed in the room with the King Bed which face the road, but the traffic noise was minimal as the house sits far off the road. The bath looks out upon a field and their back yard. I don't think you could go wrong with any of their suites!!!

My wife and stayed here for our anniversary in October. It was about a2 minute drive from downtown. Meike and Bob were very welcoming with helpful tips for things to do during our visit. They made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was a delicious way to start the day. We're planning a weekend trip for next month and we're planning on returning to a touch of country. Definitely a great place to hang your hat when visiting Stratford.

My husband and I were in Stratford just this wkend, and "A Touch of Country B & B" was exactly what we needed! We were greeted very warmly by Mieke, and she led us to our room. It was clean, comfortable, homey. Perfect! She gave us suggestions about where to go and/or what to do. The next day, breakfast was delicious! Bob and Mieke cooked us a lovely and plentiful meal, conversation came easy and noone left the table hungry.

Hostess Mieke and host Bob were the best— friendly and fun, with good suggestions for gourmet dining and budget dining. Substantial Lovely B&B breakfast -- no lunch needed. Our suite, the largest we've had in Stratford. A great getaway We felt very pampered.

We recently spent 2 nights at "A Touch of Country". It is a sparkling clean home with very comfortable accomodations and just a 5 minute drive to all of the attractions.
We stayed in the very spacious Meadow Suite and particularly enjoyed the view from our deck overlooking the corn fields. We checked out the 2 other rooms also and, though smaller than the Meadow suite they looked very comfortable and well decorated. There is also a small guest lounge which would be ideal for more than one couple travelling together.
Bob and Mieke are excellent hosts and we enjoyed chatting with them as well as getting tips from them on what to do during our stay in Stratford.

Outstanding experience. We stayed here in June 2013. Mieke & Bob were wonderful hosts. Just a 5 minute drive to downtown. The hot tub on the deck was amazing.

We stayed here for the Festival 2012. What a great place! My sister-in-law and husband and my wife (Canadians) visited Stratford for the Festival - 42nd Street 2012. “A Touch of Country” (Mieke and Bob) added much to our experience.
- Vince and Susan Baumstark from Florida, 28 February 2013

We stayed here in July 2009 & we were thoroughly spoilt by Mieke & Bob right down to use of the hot tub. Whenever anyone we know mentions they are visiting Ontario, we always recommend this lovely place.

My wife and I thought we would never stay at a bed and breakfast as good as one we stayed at a couple of years ago in Niagara-on-the-Lake; that was until we stayed at A Touch of Country in Stratford. The home was immaculate inside and out, including the nicely flowered grounds. The proprietors, Mieke and Bob, were very nice and helpful. They are one of those couples who have just the right temperament for running a successful B'n'B. The generous breakfast was very good. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. It would be our pleasure.

We had a wonderful stay. It is just out of town in the country but only five minutes drive to the Avon Theatre and just a couple more to the Festival Theatre. Our hosts were very friendly and breakfast was delicious and filling (didn't need lunch). We will definitely stay here next year when we go to see the Pirates of Penzance.

This is a lovely B&B five minutes outside Stratford. The room and breakfast exceeded our expectations. The pictures do not due it justice. Mieke and Bob are delightful. Highly recommended.

I stayed at at A Touch of Country B&B last week. Mieke and Bob are very gracious hosts. The rooms are beautiful and breakfast was delicious every day. And it was so peaceful sitting on the deck at the end of the day, looking at the amazing view. I can't wait to go back!
